#FollowFriday: Poker Tweets to follow

I get the vibe that not many Minnesota poker players have jumped on the Twitter bandwagon yet. I highly recommend it, but of course (in part because of my job in sports media) I spend hours each week on Twitter, and I’m probably fully addicted.

It’s basically like John Daly recommending his favorite brand of whiskey…

In the Twitterverse, many people participate in what’s called, “Follow Friday,” which is basically just a way for people to recommend their favorite Twitterers to follow.

If you aren’t already following MNPokerMag on Twitter, feel free to jump on board.

I also highly recommend following these poker players, bloggers and companies:

Scotty Nguyen (http://twitter.com/sjnguyen), mostly because of his excessive use of the word “baby.”

Kristy Arnett (http://twitter.com/KristyArnett), formerly of CardPlayer.com, now works for PokerNews.com. Kristy reports live from the top tournaments in the world, but her tweets are more about what happens behind the scenes in the poker culture.

Jean-Robert Bellande (http://twitter.com/BrokeLivingJRB), from WSOP on ESPN and Survivor. He tweets about his attempt to run a bankroll up to $1,000,000. Great stuff.

Matt Savage (http://twitter.com/SavagePoker), best and most innovative tournament director in the world.

Phil Mackey is a sports radio personality at 1500 ESPN Twin Cities. He's also the editor and publisher of Minnesota Poker Magazine, and the co-founder of the Minnesota State Poker Tour. Contact Phil at phil@mnpokermag.com
