HPT Meskwaki, Tama, IA – Jim Fisher top MN finisher

10:30 pm update:  Despite having 2 of the 3 remaining players in the entire tournament, the MN boys fall short of capturing the HPT title.  Kurt Fraser earned $75,091 for his heads up victory over MN’s Jim Fisher.  Fisher got a nice consolation prize, $37,545.  Congrats on a nice showing for MN.
 
9:30 pm update:  Tony Moses has just busted in 3rd place.  He’ll take home $22,528.  MN”s Jim Fisher and Kurt Fraser from Illinois will go at it heads up.  Fraser was the short stack when the final TV six began.
 
9:00 pm update:  Tim Krause of Nebraska has just busted 4th.  That means 3 players remain, 2 from MN, Moses and Fisher.
 
7:20 pm update:  Tony Hager busted 5th, Sunil Aggerwal busted 6th.  That means two Minnesotans, James Fisher and Tony Moses remain in the final four and battling for $70K.  Moses current chip leader.
 
5:50 pm update:  Cameras are rolling now! Meskwaki Final Table: Kurt Fraser (Schaumburg, IL) 240K in chips, Sunil Aggarwal (Marion, IL) 815K, James Fisher (Austin, MN) 970K, Tony Moses (Minneapolis, MN) 865K, Tim Krause (Freemont, NE) 760K, Tony Hager (Johnston, IA) 510K.
 
4:30 pm update:  The field is now down to 6 players.  The HPT staff is currently conducting final table interviews.  The televised final table will resume at 5:30 pm. 
James Fisher of Austin, MN is the current chip leader.  He has $970,ooo chips.  Interesting fact, Fisher’s daughter is Sparkle Ninja with the Minnesota Roller Girls.  He’s wearing a roller girls tee shirt.
Tony Moses of MN is still going strong as well, he has $865,000. 
 
2:19 pm update:  Dresch called an all-in with packet 8′s against QJ of diamonds.  Dresch flopped a set but his opponent turns a gutshot straight.  Dresch shoved all-in for $10,000 on the next hand and busted 9th.  He’ll take home $5,835 for his efforts.
 
1:19 pm update:  Down to the final 10 players!
 
1:00 pm update:  The most recent MSPT Champion Ray “StingRay” Bendijo just busted out in 12th place. Dresch and Moses are now representing Minnesota. 
 
12:30 pm update:  Tony Moses just chipped up to 320K after he pushed all in with Q♠ Q ♦.  Alby called with8♣ 8♦.  The board was J♥ 5♠ Q ♥ 6 ♥ 7♦.  13 players remain witht he current blind levels at 7,000/14,000
 
12:00 pm update:  16 players remaining with an average stack of 253K.  Jeremy Dresch 304K, Ray Bendijo 120K, and Tony Moses 180K are still in.
 
10:20 am update:  Big hand within the first 30 minutes of day two of the HPT main event. Jeremy Dresch quadrupled up with his KK. Four way all in. AK, QQ, KK, AA where the hand that were shown. The flop was 8♠ K♠ 2♥ 10♠ 5♥ Dresch took out two players with that hand including the last standing female player Mary Jo Zogman. He’s now sitting at 278K with the average stack 126K.

 

The Heartland Poker Tour main event started promptly at 3pm on Saturday, November 6th.  With a field of 270 players there are many familiar faces from Minnesota that made the trip to Tama, IA including John Morgan, Jeremy Dresch, Rob WazWaz, John Alexander, Matt Alexander, Mark Dunbar, Ray Bendijo, Bruce Vang, and many more.
 
The top 30 players will get paid.  1st place will be taking home over $70K, an HPT jacket and a $3,000 Championship package.  After playing 12 rounds Saturday lasting 9 hours and 20 minutes there are 42 players remaining.  Day two of the main event starts at 10 am Sunday morning.
