MSPT Canterbury Day 1

11:08pm Update (Bryan Mileski):  We currently sit at 21 players remaining.  17 players will advance to the $100,000 Guaranteed Main Event on Sunday.  That’s right!  17.  Definitely a great start to the week.  Lots of buzz here, its a lofty lofty goal but we’re aiming for 200 this week in the Main Event.  That would be sick, good start though.  No snowstorms please.

Also, Thanks for holding down the fort tonight Jocelyn.  Just got done with the 1st ever MNPokerRadio show.

In this inaugural episode, co-hosts Nate Avenson and I deliver, in at least two separate segments, on a promise of fail. Guests include Lance “kingpin023″ Harris(6 figure FTOPS winner), Chris Hanson(HPT commentator, and legendary storyteller), Phil Mackey(MNPokerMag and ESPN1500), Dan “KronicKiller” Williams(#3 ranked MN online MTTer, not actually a “chronic killer”), and Dan Michalski(pokerati.com). I reported live from the MSPT Canterbury while Nate drinks at home, alone.

10:00pm Update (Jocelyn):  The Minnesota State Poker Tour has invaded Canterbury Park.  Despite the single digit weather, poker players from all around Minnesota and surrounding areas made their way to Canterbury to play the first $250 qualifier of the Minnesota State Poker Tour season finale of 2010.  Tonight there were 85 players in the $250 qualifier.  John Alexander, 3-Putts, John Morgan, Todd Melander, Lance Harris, and Matt Kirby are some of the players that have graced the MSPT with their presence.  $60, $90, $150 and $250 single table satellites will be running all week.
