Can you believe I lost with this hand?

Allow me to recreate a fairly typical poker interaction.  This interaction may, in fact, seem too mundane to warrant further analysis; that said, I often feel that minor, forgettable actions tend to reveal more broad social trends on human nature in general, and poker players specifically.

Breyfogle wins Great MN Freeze Out, $33,038

12:20AM Update: Todd Breyfogle just took down the 2012 Canterbury Park Great MN Freeze Out by outlasting 131 entrants.  The last hand saw Breyfogle’s QJ hold versus Steinmetz’ Q8.  Breyfogle will take home $33,038 for the win.  Steinmetz takes home $17,790 as runner-up. 

Kou Vang wins Big Stack Avalanche Tournament

Kou Vang does it again!  Just one month after winnning the Bluff Mid-States Poker Tour event at Canterbury Park by besting a field of 230 players for $64,465, Vang rolls through a 218-entrant field in the Big Stack Avalanche Touranment at Running Aces Harness Park for $26,544!

Shawn Aaberg continues to lead the MNPokerMag Player of the Year race.  Aaberg’s 3 POY cashes also leads the state in the early going.
