Everett Carlton Qualifies for WSoPC National Championship
Everett Carlton of St. Paul, MN recently cashed in back-to-back events during the WSOP Circuit stop in St. Louis, MO. Carlton finished 52nd in Event #11 which attracted 628 runners – the $1,620 NLHE Main Event – for $3,228.
The event prior – Event #10 $1,090 buy-in – Carlton placed 22nd of 229 for $2,050. With those two cashes, Carlton has officially qualified for the WSOP Circuit National Championship.
100 players from the WSOP Circuit will qualify for the $1 million National Championship. 34 players will receive an exempt seat to the National Championship, while 66 players would qualify based upon rankings points. All players who cash in sanctioned WSOP Circuit ring events receive points on a sliding scale. All ring events — except for the Main Events — award 50 points for first place. Then on a sliding scale downward the finishers gain points all the way to 2.5 points just for cashing.
Everett has cashed 6 times this season for $49,520. That places him 50th overall on the Point Leaderboard and good enough to qualify him with just 2 stops remaining on the 2011/2012 calendar.
Bill Criego currently sits 89th on the Leaderboard with 3 cashes for $92,883. He has not yet qualified for the Championship event.
