2012 WSOP Update – MN Perspective

7:30PM Update:  Schweke was unable to make the final table after holding the chip lead with 20 players to go.  He was sent to the rail in 13th place and a nice pay day of $11,957.

8:00AM Update:  Its been pretty slow-going for MN players at the 2012 WSOP thus far.  Only one official cash through 7 events – Matt Alexander placed 40th for $4,011.  But…

Tyler Schwecke of St. Paul is the current chip leader in Event #8 – $1,500 Omaha Hi-Low Split 8 or Better – with only 20 players remaining.  967 players entered.  First place is $264,400.  Schwecke is guaranteed $7,989 at this point.  Good luck!

At the Venetian Deep Stack, Derek Palmer of Glencoe, MN placed 34th of 401 entrants for $1,270 in the $540+$60 Event #6.
