Several big names ran deep including Matt Kirby, Blake Bohn, Everett Carlton, Matt Alexander, Rob WazWaz and others.
Kirby lost a tough hand late with AK-suited versus short-stacked Alan Ahman’s Q9-suited to leave Kirby short himself. He battled back to over 1 million in chips but was eventually sent to the rail in 4th place when his 33 < 77 of Adam Dahlin.
Adam Dahlin had a great FPC series winning over $20K prior to the Main Event including the King of the Classic title which earned him an upcoming trip to Vegas on a private jet to play an event at the Bellagio.
Once Kirby was out – the remaining 3 players worked an ICM chop based on chip counts that awarded Dahlin the most:
Left on the table to play for was $15K, the trophy, and the 3rd spot on the jet to Vegas.
Play resumed for a while longer until Ahman was eliminated by Dahlin. At that point Dahlin and Vang agreed to take $5K each from the $15K and play for the remaining $5K & the trophy.
Dahlin and Vang went on to play a grueling heads-up battle that lasted for over 2 hours. Finally, Dahlin was able to put it away and pocket over $72K for the win along with his second seat on the private jet to Vegas! You can also look for his banner hanging from the rafters next October.
