A total of 6,420 players entered this year’s $10K Main Event – down from 6,683 in 2014 – 4,389 have survived Day 1.
After only 1 Minnesota player (Tracy Nguyen – 47,900) advanced from Day 1A of the $10K Main Event – 11 MN players survived Day 1B.
The 2015 WSOP Main Event is underway! It appears that only one Minnesota player advanced through Day 1A – that would be Tracy Nguyen of Sauk Rapids with a 47,900 stack.
Its been a very slow summer overall for MN players at the WSOP but John Reading has enjoyed some great success. He recently placed 4/4,555 in Event 61: $1,111 Little One Drop for another $212,559!
Everett Carlton picked up his 4th cash of the series in Event 59: $1,500 NLHE, Lance Harris and Hunter Cichy each picked up their 3rd cash of the summer in Event 61: $1,111 Little One Drop.
After accumulating over $2.4 million in earnings during the 2014 WSOP, Minnesota players have yet to reach the $1 million mark in 2015 through 57 completed events.
John Hayes made a deep run in Event 51: $3,000 NLHE 6-max – placing 52/1043 for $8,627. This brings MN’s total earnings to $937,259.
DJ Buckley’s 5th place finish in Event 42: $1500 Extended Play – earned him a cool $107,800! This was Buckley’s 3rd cash of the series and only the second 6-digit score for MN during the 2015 WSOP.

Its been fairly quiet the last week for MN players at the WSOP. Kou Vang made a deep run in Event 38: $3,000 NLHE by placing 13/989 for $24,731. This was Vang’s 2nd cash of the summer.
